Thanks for the NW tip, going to look at their time tables now. Any idea if any cargo carriers make that run? I doubt it, but it's nice to be able to have a "sure thing" seat.

NWA is obviously not predominately a cargo carrier, but that flight between LAX and ANC is only cargo 74s. NW has 4 first class seats on the upper deck plus the jump in the cockpit. There are usually a couple of jumpseaters on that route, but I have yet to see a guy get turned away due to a lack of a seat. Nothing is a sure thing, but as far as jumpseating goes it's as close as it gets. That is until the base closes.
