I like where he talks about positioning Eagle for growth....???? Parking the entire SAAB fleet, and ditching 10 ERJ 135's and cutting routes/flights... He must be talking about growing his paycheck, because he certainly ain't growing the airline.

The problem is that Eagle is only allowed to be a certain percentage of mainline flying, around 8% I think the number is.... so, with the cuts announced by AMR on the AA side, Eagle jumped the gun and started cutting. The end result was a displacement bid, with base closures, closely followed by an announcment from AMR that they aren't cutting the mainline side as much as they thought, and oh, by the way... Eagle, here are 1,700 more hours of flying per month than you expected.....

To bad you already spent all that money running a simultaneous Vacancy & Displacement Bid along with a base closure... Yeah, it really was cost ineffective to run two bases in the Northeast.... one in LGA and the other in BOS.... so, what did they do.... now we have three bases in the northeast, BOS, LGA and JFK.... soon to be replaced with only two bases again... this time JFK and LGA.... wow, going from two bases 180 miles apart to two bases 8 miles apart... Yep, we're saving money now for sure.
