Here is the truth to the story and I think pilots hate to admit to this. Anybody, if they really wanted to be, is capable of being a pilot. You are not that special, not that talented and yes, not even that smart that anybody walking around on the street today couldn't do your job. So if you wanted to make money, why are you a pilot?
I think what he means is we all had to start somewhere, no one was born with 5,000 hours and a CFII, and everyone knew what we were getting into as far as the regionals even as crappy as they are, if you didn't, you don't belong here, the unfortunate fact is if you want to get anywhere in this business you have to either know someone or pay your dues, this day and age in the aviation industry it's not what you know it's who you know...there's no sense in complaining about it on a forum, it won't get you very far...
