I would say that hiring has come to a screeching halt. We had some hired with a class and the class was canceled. So we now have a pool waiting for a class.
As far as upgrade, the one year upgrade is a thing of the past. When I interviewed in April the 12 to 14 months to upgrade was changed to 24 months. Anyone that comes on now will be on reserve for a while and it is anybody’s guess on when upgrade will occur.
I don’t really want to start a flow discussion but there are now too many variables to consider. They are flow, the economy, and if Delta is going to give us any more airplanes.
All I know is the fast upgrades to the left seat are gone for now.

what is the deal with the Northwest flow up and back agreements now that Delta is the new team leader? Can a northwest or delta pilot be displaced back into the compass cockpits when the dc9's are parked?
That would be almost worse than being outsourced like what is happening to the midwest express pilots being put to the street.?
