Very true. We spent a couple days there in late August, then went up the valley to Lauterbrunnen for 5 days. Right below the Jungfrau, with a cable car going up one side of the valley (Murren, Gimmelwald), and a cog rail going up the other side (Wengen, Grindelwald, Jungfraujoch). Hikers' paradise. Recommend Hotel Lotschberg in Interlaken and Hotel Silberhorn in Lauterbrunnen (they have websites). Suggest going in spring or fall to avoid crowds, and get a SwissPass.
