I guess for future interviews I'll show up in in my uniform, epaulets and all. Obviously the only way you can prove you are a pilot is to be dressed in uniform, ready to fly a plane that second. I dunno, some people have told me it was dumb of me to to show up like that but I disagree and think the question was out of line.

I think part of the guy's problem with me was that I was not wearing a suit. I was wearing dress pants, shirt, and tie. My suit I bought for my Trans States interview back in January doesn't fit me anymore since I've lost 70 pounds and I'm too poor to buy another suit. I guess they got the impression that I wasn't taking the interview seriously when in reality I'm just poor and they're out of touch with reality. Oh well, I'm very very glad I didn't get hired.
gee, you show up looking unprofessional, and 30 seconds in, give a smart-a$$ answer. yeah, it was the lack of a suit.

a big part of this job is professionalism look the part, act the part. doesn't mean wear your full uniform. if all you got is a shirt, slacks, & a tie, then you go in wearing that, but the shirt & slacks are pressed, the tie is tied and top button buttoned. the point of the interview is to act like you're there to confirm they're going to hire you.

and the answer told them right away how you'd treat a passenger who came to you asking questions. snarky, disrespectful answers can get you in trouble. there's no way of knowing whether the pax you're talking to is some guy on the street or your codeshare's CEO. you say the wrong thing, and i'm sure a call will be made to your CEO discussing the disrespectful way his employees treat the codeshare's customers.

look like a prefessional, act like a professional
