While true that it should not matter, you should have known going in that it would be an issue. You literally went into the interview looking to pick a fight. I had a full beard before my last interview and, from working in the private sector I can say with confidence that the o2 mask fits just fine if you keep it trimmed. Regardless, I knew if I wanted the job I needed to shave for my interview. Nobody is thinking too highly of themselves here, just pointing out the facts of life.
