Some pilots carry around a little book so they can write down a ton of numbers at the end of every single flight. These are usually the same pilots who have button pushing disorders.
It's pretty easy to buy a $5 pilot log, and write the basic info in it following each flight.
Flight #, tail #, city-pair, out/in times, inst., night, blk and an appr if applicable. Most days (VFR, daytime) it takes me about 30 seconds. If you're lucky enough to keep the same airplane all day, you can draw a line with an arrow through the tail # column.
