I have shot plenty of 40+ year old ammo with nary a problem. As long as it isn't corroded, damaged through repeated chambering and hasn't been stored under hellish conditions it will outlast most of us. My previous post was mostly in jest.

I had a bad experiance with some old ammo once...
I had several old Shotgun shells, you know the paper ones, well I had never shot one, and I had the bright Idea to load one up in my old single shot and pop it off... Well, Im not a totall idiot, so I did consult my father and he said it should be just fine.... Long and short of it... I pull the trigger, I here the evil click of a miss fire... I pull the shotgun off of my should and BOOM! the butt jumps up and busts my nose...
Later on, my I was informed that he forgot to mention their could be a delay... Nice huh? Never again!
