I wasn't at Delta at the time, but I read about it in an article in the Wall Street Journal. It would of been 1998 or 1999 I think. It was an MD-11 crew going ATL to I believe Tokyo. The Captain landed in Portland, OR I think.
Maybe other guys can give more details.
