I think with what you've said herein lies the problem. We tend to want someone "we" want, and maybe not who's good for us. The same seems to be the problem with voting for our president, congressman, senators, etc. We vote for the person and justify everything about them, totally disregarding the harm they may cause us in this profession of ours. The worst part of the problem is that when they do something to harm our profession, the damage is done, and when they leave office a few years later, the damage is STILL done.
