You may be well patting yourself on the back for "saving" Midex (I still can't believe you had the nerve to say that, even on an anonymous forum) but I think you would find, if you took the time to stop being so smug, that the Midex crews are far from grateful to Shutubqua. Certainly not the 2 crews I sat with from DCA-MKE and back, a couple of weeks ago.
Their feeling is that they would rather have had a choice to go down with the ship, so to speak, rather than have someone like you telling them they should be grateful to the mighty E-Jet pilots of RAH for flying aircraft in Midex colors, on Midex routes and for substantially less.
A little bit of common sense and humility goes a long way in this business. You should try them sometime.
Ah, here is where we are not communicating. I never patted anyone, certainly not myself on the back for taking a higher paying job off the market. If you look around at many of my postings you will find that I am very much disappointed in the way things have gone in this industry.
Frankly I'd have rather seen MedEx burn down. I believe until one of the big boys, and no offense to MedEx but, I mean the real big boys goes down in flames because the flight crews are holding a picket sign instead of a yoke, only then when upper management gets kicked to the curb and shareholders loose it all will things in this industry change and we may start getting the pay and respect we deserve.
I am guessing you missed the (good or bad) part of my original statement. My intent with that was to not impose my feelings about it. And while I am certain that anyone loosing a job at MedEx is bitter about it all I am guessing the baggage handler making ends meet is pretty happy the pilots didn't get to vote to sink the ship, just yet.
And need I remind anyone we have our own challenges with this whole deal. If the MedEx crews decide to lower themselves to flying two less people around while keeping their airline alive they will be taking airplanes from my company. I won't blame the crews a bit but, I'd like to see some of them walking a line for us like we did for them when the time comes.
I don't like the way the MedEx deal came down. I will not however turn my back on a company that is proactive in finding homes for its assets. I can't sit by and let my own house burn down while putting my neighbors out, I'd think you may not either.
This threads been Jacked enough, I meant no disrespect to anyone.
