Yes, get a union and be protected (unlike TWA). Reread my post. The law was enacted in Dec, 07 to prevent a unionized pilot group from being treated like the TWA guys. If SWA acquires another airline, I would expect that there would be a negotiated integration of pilots per the new law if they are unionized, and yes, stapled to the bottom if they chose to be non union.

Thanks for the information. I fly with guys that think we are safe without a union and that our individual contracts mean something. Unfortunately, our individual contracts go out the window if we are bought by a company whose pilots are unionized. Basically, we are out of luck and maybe on the street. Guys say a union does nothing for them but they forget that a union is better than being non union, especially if we are bought out or a new management group takes over. Protect our jobs to the best of our ability should be the name of the game, not the mentality that this company will take care of us.
