While I agree with your post, movement exists if a regional carrier is actively hiring. While a 3-5 year vacation would not be a bad thing and agree with your take on it, 3-5 years senority at any regional is hard to pass up if it is presented to someone especially those hunting for flying postitions.
I suggested TSA, but they are not hiring. Im cautious about Mesaba only until the NWA/DAL thing sorts itself out. Also, he will be commuting, so ease of commute versus others is a consideration.
