The majority of major pilots probably aren't too familiar with the situation, but some of today's regional pilots will be involved in hiring at the majors someday....you would not want an ex-tsa or ex-mesa pilot on your hiring borad, or as a sim instructor.

Personally, I have educated about 25 reserve naval aviator/airline pilots about gojets...most didn't have a clue, but they all seemed to understand once the issue was explained to them. One of these guys is involved in hiring at a top-tier major (I'll let the gojeters try to guess which one ).

I would not hold it against a furloughed TSA pilot since it was his/her flying in the first place. But as long as TSA is downsizing, nobody else gets a free pass at gojet in my book.

YMMV.
Your assumptions are based on unknowns in the future of interview board personel. Also, each major carrier has their own criteria for who they choose to interview. At Southwest, who you worked for is not one of them. Our system looks at hard data and times, not where they got said data.

However, your right in the sense that someone by chance could interview said pilot in the future. However, the chances are remote as most interviewers have no impact on who the (company) interviews.

Respectfully,
