Why would Mesa announce furloughs over three months ago, say the furloughs were going to happen in October, sit on them for three months delaying and delaying them and then cancel them after all of that, just to reinstate them two weeks later? Open your eyes.
Mesa did furlough in October though. They furloughed 15 pilots. That is on top of the 49 they furloughed who were still in class. I wouldn't be surprised if they make another furlough announcement at the beginning of 2009. There is no way Mesa will run overstaffed through the economic downturn.
