Being from the North East, I've always found that direct, respectful, confrontation is far and away better than just thinking "that guy is an A hole" and leaving it at that. As I've said before, if you don't spend the time to tell someone that he or she is wrong, and why, than you can't expect them to alter their behavior or point of view. Each of us is responsible for letting our elected officials know how we feel about a specific issue.

No excuse, sir! Guilty as charged; have a hard time with that "respectful disagreement" thang. Seriously though, I been an active correspondent with my Block & LEC Reps over the last several years. The fact that my LEC Chair was standing beside said individual, giving the union's--ready for a big word?--imprimateur (or stamp of approval for my fellow uneducmacated pilots from the South) gave me pause. That and the fact I'm relatively new on the property--not an excuse, just not ready to trash those many who have worked here a lot longer than me to build both the company AND the union to what it is today. OK, strike the union part. Still happy to be here, but obviously don't get the big picture.
