IMHO, the masses have dreams of 1 million dollar Citations and Lears, instead of the Barron-sized jets the VLJs infact are.

The thought of using small, underutilized airports won't work, because insurance companies will want adequate over-run, adequate approaches, and protection from wildlife. That will eliminate many fields.

I don't care if you are a computer whiz, I just don't feel the VLJ market is going to make those silly predictions.
I agree wholeheartedly:

1) Who's going to fly them? $10/hr CFI's?
2) Who's going to insure a jet without two pilots, one of whom has experience?
3) What's going to happen when TSA get's wind of terrorist aspirations involving VLJs? VLJ Pax will have to go to a major airport to get screened!
4) They are not going to be luxurious...high dollar pax expect high dollar ameneties.
5) Many PAX don't like my "little regional jet"...86 seats and 82,000lbs.
5) How are the economics going to work with 1-4 PAX?

Some folks might go for it if the cost were comparable to airlines, but economy of scale will ensure that doesn't happen.

Lot's of unanswered questions...
