I know your comment is tongue in cheek but those of us at United have been placed under a "communication blackout." The MEC has stopped communicating (and I understand why) and our forum has been shut down (my guess is for good.) The power of a Federal judge is enormous. However, that being said, it does NOT trump First Amendment rights or the right to exercise my Captain's authority. While our MEC has been effectively neutered, the pilot group has not, and will continue to do what we need to do to get rid of this miserable management, and to secure a fair and reasonable contract next year. We have every right afforded to us under the Railway Labor Act including the right to STRIKE. Hopefully, with the new administration we may see a more labor friendly National Mediation Board and Dept. of Labor. Time will tell, but in the meantime, I reserve my RIGHT to say that UAL management is the worst in the industry and the sooner we find a merger partner who wants to run a real airline, the better!
