Just curious about what the future holds.

My understanding is that AirTran tried to buy Midwest and Midwest said no. So AirTran is going to start operating out of Milwaukee. I also have the understanding that Midwest is partially owned by Northwest, who just merged with Delta.

So having all that been said...
Are we to infer that Midwest will sell/trade its 717's to Delta/NW to replace the DC-9's that are on their way out? Do we have an airline battle for the midwest on our hands? Just wanted to hear some educated guesses on this one, not trying to start any arguments.
