Why don't these over 60 guys retire? The movement for this change to 65, was stemmed primarly from airline pilots losing their retirement such as UAL, DAL, Airways and others to come.

FedEx pilots over 60 are in no worry of losing their retirement. Havent they read the statistics of life expentancy working till that age? It's 0 years after that. If you work till 65 as an airline pilot, statistically you will die in less than a year of retirement. Then you wont get to enjoy any of your retirement.

Who in their right mind wants to fly the backside of the clock when you are a grandpa?

Retire for your own benefit and save jobs of the younger FDX pilots who will most likely get furloughed. Its a win/win.

BTW. Don't be too optimistic. Indy has reduced their operations from Monday to Friday down to Monday to Thursday. Airbus planes are getting parked in the desert. 727's are retiring early. And 3 man planes are getting replaced by 2 man planes. Banks are failing, the value of the dollar has plummeted, less boxes are being shipped, credit markets are locked up, auto industries are weeks away from being out of cash, while greedy unions wont give up a red penny shooting themselves in the foot. Meanwhile, nationwide, construction workers are no longer building new homes, new and old homes can't sell. Yet, greedy CEO's are asking for a 10 million dollar bonus while their company plunders. The country is in TROUBLE and FEDEX isn't IMMUNE.

If I was an old grey/bald/shriveled 60+ year old pilot, I would retire and drink martini's next to my pool. And if I was a pilot in the bottom 15% of the seniority list at FDX, I would be crossing my fingers that this holiday season shipped alot of boxes while saving every cent I made.
