Thank you, for making my point. The issue has nothing to do with race, creed or national origin. We hired people with less than minimal quals for all sorts of reasons. One guy was a 19-year-old Cessna 152 driver who befriended Fred over in LIT, before the company got off the ground. Turns out, with experience, he became a very competent pilot. Another low time single engine guy ended up killing himself in an airplane.

Here's where I take issue. .. and I do not understand why you cannot (or refuse to) make the connection. It is basic.

Maybe he was 'one in a million' as to attacking an airline crew, BUT he represents a large percentage of minority hires in all professional fields of endeavor.

AND .. THAT is the issue. He should have never been on the property, based upon his experience (or lack thereof) and competence level.

“Quotas”, minority hiring and Affirmative Action are institutionalized in our society and the HR department exerts undue influence on the hiring policies of every company. The bar OUGHT to be set at one level and figure out some way to make the hire process ‘color blind’ . . no ‘extra points’ for anything having to do with ‘minority status’.

You either qualify for the job . . or you don’t. In the case of Auburn, many people just looked the other way and did not check out his credentials and references . . at 3 companies! They just wanted him in a seat . . . and the ‘x’ in the box he represented. It is one of the sicknesses our society is suffering from. A mental disorder.
