I have been turned around by TSA at EWR for not having a boarding pass, even though I was in uniform with ID. So to eliminate the stress, I just automatically check at the ticket counter and get a pass. Saves a lot of time.
Also, our jumpseat committee says that if we serve the airport then a pass is not needed. We operate into and out of EWR, but I still just sign up for the jumpseat at the ticket counter.

I'm surprised by this, as i commute out of EWR all the time ( ASA ) and I go in through security, full uniform, and it works like a charm. I had one instance of a rash attitude, but it was a man saying i shouldn't have waited in line like the other TSA agent told me to do...so go figure?
