I agree with the original poster, but I'm not as passionate about the issue. Comparing pilot acronyms is not the same. We all know was VOR & ILS stand for, only those who work for a certain company know what "B9" or whatever stands for. It's a very different thing. I don't know them all, nor do I care to learn them. If a thread starts off with some airline code (not a common acronym) that I don't know, I move on to some other thread. I think I work for CO, but I'm not sure and I don't care. I just show up and fly when they tell me.
Here's one for you guys to figure out:
Who's BTA? That's the airline code on the flight plan, not some airline computer code. Example: Continental is COA.
