(sorry no new rumours here! you'll have to get your crack fix elsewhere)
Why would the FAA come and knock on your door?
I was a CFI with another NK bud for a while. That school turned out to be very slow. That btw did not surprise me for the quality (or lack of) training that was provided. They promised us 100h+ a month, then it turned out they expected you to find your own students. We both left after only a month or so.
I ended up flying boxes at night for a p135 place. It is slave work but I wish I had done this for time building instead of instructing. That paid 16k. My 135 pays 36k/year. Almost the same as guarantee on reserve at NK. Of course I work a lot more for that money. At NK on reserve you basically do not work if you live in base. You can't call 4-5 days a month anything other than a hobby. Different story if you commute. Now I fly 130+ hours/month. Ouch... Considering the safety factor and the workload, and that I don't really need the money badly, I think I should have gone on unemployment instead.
Btw anyone knows what unemployment pays in FL? Roughly?
