None of these people you mention are skilled laborers at the level we are, that's why!!!! Your barber has gone through a few weeks of barber school. Waiters/waitresses don't generally go to school. Bartenders may have a whole 2 week course. Flight attendants get a few weeks of training.
Pilots have to go through years of specialized training and licensing. We are professionals along the lines of doctors, lawyers, funeral directors, etc. We are not barbers, waiters or flight attendants. We are above tips. Professionals do not ask for or accept tips.
Stop comparing us to doctors, jesus christ! Your a pilot, and you parents probably paid for your education, flight school and you love wearing your uniform to show the world your a Skilled (professional) Pilot. Get over yourself, were are all working stiffs and some of us have a lot of responsibilities such as kids, mortgages and plenty of other worries. I am not about to let pride take me down, if someone wants to throw a $20 bill my way I will not say "no thanks, I am a professional". And nobody is begging, its just a concept. When you grow up youll learn to check your pride at the door!
