That is the same thing many of the hippies during the '60s as well as many on the left today say about Communism. The problem is the fundamental principle which guides Communism is that Man must exist for the sake of the State. The Arabic word "Islam" means the submission or surrender of one's will to the only true god worthy of worship "Allah". If you substitute Allah for State in this context you have something just as evil as communism. Maybe even more so because communist are materialist and don't buy into the glory through martydom thing and they realize the consequences of mutaully assured destruction.
