Good one FlyJSH I actually starting to wonder about that myself so I looked them all up on dictionary.com and learned that APRON seems to be the most accurate name for the tarmac or ramp as used for our purposes.
I had no idea that tarmac was all about the material used to surface. chalk another item up to fill the brain!
