I see your point, but why criticize other peoples personal choices? I have no problem with my crew drinking on the road(as long as they comply with regs). I will even go out with them, I just CHOOSE not to drink. It's just my decision. If the gun isn't loaded, there's no chance of shooting myself in the foot. Once again, this is just my personal decision. I see no reason to criticize it.
I do the same thing for the same reasons PLUS I sleep better which means I feel better at the end of a pacific crossing. The other reason is I hate $9 Japanese beer.
