A lot of people ask pilots why they don't leave and look for other types of careers if the pay is so bad. Do you know what the most common response is? "Beats working in a cubicle" or, "I just love to fly". As long as that attitude exists in the industry do not expect wages to come up any time soon.

For every one person who leaves the industry due to low wages, I'm willing to bet there are at least 100 who will gladly take his/her place for the same or lower wages.
I worked for American Eagle and Air Wisconsin. Low wages was just one reason I went back to driving tractor trailers. I now get home everynight and have weekends and holidays off. Not to mention that I will make over $50,000 this year compared to $22,000 as a F/O. Whats funny though is that drivers are not lined up to replace me for less money. Drivers won't drive a truck for free. Pilots need to adopt the same attitude as truck drivers. Without the collective pilot group you can't do business.
