Thanks, the other guy beat me to the question. But as a follow up, how does it work? Do they alternate months between sim and line? Do they have rights to displace a line guy off his trip if they want to the line or are there restrictions about when/how he flies the line?

Not trying to start an APC forums riot, just curious about the job as it seems to be mentioned frequently.
