Car bombs have been utilized in two homeland terrorist attacks in the last 20 years (WTC 93 and OKC 95), and
untold number of overseas attacks on US interests (perhaps most notably, Tanzania and Kenya 98).
...and there's
no screening whatsoever for somebody who walks into a Penske or Ryder franchise and plunks down a few hundred bucks for a 20' rental truck.
