You must be one of the few who did not derive inspiration from "Top Gun" when Maverick and Goose took to the skies together.

I was born in 1986, don't know why, but Top Gun never really interested me. I've actually never seen the whole movie. It's hilarious to watch the Airplane movies now, because so many lewd jokes, especially the Captain Oveur and Joey cockpit tour scenes, went completely over my head back then.
