Ever since I've been here there's always talk about parking a bunch of the diesel 8's. But these jets are built like a tank, have legs and work great in the domestic arena. Now running four engines gets expensive for a long narrow body, but what the heck, they're paid for!

Whe I was an 8 Captain, I used to laugh at management when they'd brag that we had "the largest fleet of dc8s in the world." Well, DUH, we also had the worlds biggest store of parts all around the world, couldn't share parts! That got expensive, and the international business outgrew the dc8 years ago.

I plumbed on the 727 for almost 4 years. It was fine, but boring after about 12 months. The 8 panel looks more complicated, but it's actually a much easier panel to plumb.
