I understand completely - whatever it takes! I'll get to know the plane like the back of my hand, and I'm looking forward to it. I am surprised that it can't be logged as third-in-command. You are third-in-command, right, like an international relief officer.

Now you do. They re-engined them, so they are a little more 'reasonable' to operate. And everyone I have ever spoken with who flies them loves 'em. I liked the "DC Series" I had the opportunity to fly. . the DC-6/7 and the DC-9 (Navy varient-C-9B or dash 32) Douglas made some great aircraft!
I looked 'em up on Airliners.net. Pretty cool: UPS DC-8-73F and the
flight deck.
