ImEbee, I would have been satisfied if they gave me those 7-9 "guaranteed interviews!" At least, if they did that, they fulfilled their part of the bargain. I NEVER expected them to give me a job. I always knew going into the program that I had no network, I was very green switching to a different career path, and that I needed the Embry-Riddle name and their networking power to have a chance. See, if 7-9 airlines I interviewed with said, "no thank you, now go away" then that would have been that and I would not be on here today warning people away from CAPT. This is not to say that their mismangement was acceptable. But at least, I got what I bought. To me, all I wanted were two things from CAPT:

1. Completion in 10-12 months
2. 7-9 guaranteed interviews

Neither of these advertised items were met. And for the record, as an ab initio pilot, you walk out of the program with:

Commercial multi-engine airplane, instrument airplane, dc-9 type, 225 total time in your log book. That's it. No commercial single engine. No CFI. No additional flight time. I had to fight the program to get my commercial single engine out of them because I had so much time left when I graduated from the program.

Believe me, I know today that there are alternatives to CAPT, and that is exactly what I am trying to accomplish with my story and my posts. I want the world to know that CAPT is a scam and a ripoff and that there are other ways to go about flight training that would be cheaper and just as effective. Unfortunately, over 160 students will suffer at the hands of the CAPT mismanagement and lies. They have to be stopped.
