Hi.

Pilotpip:
Who cares. Point is SIC time is worthless and GJ doesn't pay the bills.
In my case, SIC time, especially in a glass jet, is great.

I need about 220 civilian hours to be qualified for the Japan 767 contract jobs. So, ANY flying that gets me 250 hours is a great help. I also could use some more (500-1000) fixed-wing hours for some jobs, and 800 more to get me to 5000 TT for some other jobs, so ANY hours helps me in the above 3 categories.

I was going to apply to Etihad, but they require 1000 glass jet, and I have 0, so any glass jet hours helps a lot. I've also seen a lot of jobs that would like glass time, and I basically don't have any, so any glass time will help.

I just applied at Lynx, which pays LESS than GoJets, for FOs, and I'll take the job if I get it. It pays about the same as unemployment, but my family gets travel benefits (which is worth A LOT to me), I'll stay current, I'll get glass time, I'll build my hours, and I'll get hours in an aircraft (Q400) that is actually in demand in LOTS of places.

It sounds like now I may end up at Cape Air, which kind of doesn't make sense, since it's recip/non-glass time. BUT, I need airplane hours, of some kind or another, and the travel benefits are good. I can't afford to be picky now. One of my buddies has been laid off since July, and hasn't even gotten a single interview anywhere.
