People like purpleanga, laxflier, CaptainCarl and others alike need a nice, fat reality check.

This entire argument about GoJet is about as juvenile as it gets. Yes, it was a questionable outfit in 2005. No, it is not questionable any longer - a few hotheads and internet tough guys notwithstanding. The reason it was questionable was because it was considered an alter ego until the courts decided that it wasn't. ALPA has been telling furloughees to apply at GoJet since the first ALPA carrier last year went under - MINE, Aloha Airlines. ATA, Champion followed not long afterwards, and they were told the same thing - GOJET! Look at this deal with ASA now.

Simple, really.

If purpleanga, laxflier, CaptainCarl and their buddies are frowning at GoJet and would rather work at McDonald's... let them. It's their choice. Most MATURE people will see it for what it is - a job. It's a freaking job! Tens of thousands of layoffs in just about every industry get announced every day. EVERY STINKING DAY! If you manage to work in your profession, more power to you. You want to dodge the whipsaw game? Get out of the industry. Look at the whole Comair/Pinnacle/Mesaba/ASA plane shuffle... yet, it's GoJet that's bad. Like I said, early on... maybe so. Now? No different than any other... but you can't convince the juvenile delinquents to think rationally. Try arguing reason with your hormonal teenage drama queen and see how far it gets you. Same with these guys.

GoJet is extremely competitive right now because it's the only game in town. No other place is hiring. Simple, really. Apply and hope to God you get hired, and if you do... consider yourself lucky because there are dozens of other pilots competing for that same spot you just got hired into.
