Alaska crews have always gone out of their way to accommodate me as have the CSRs which are consistently outstanding. Sadly, they go well beyond what I could expect at my own airline. Still, it's a professional courtesy to jumpseat and if ops manuals outline a company rule, you can't knock a guy for standing by it.
Reading this thread, I think everyone feels the same gratitude for the generosity and courtesy when jumpseating offline - but that IS something when the CSRs go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
Of course that's just a normal day at Alaska.
