Union pilots at Southwest Airlines have reached a tentative agreement on a new, five-year contract that would boost salaries and retirement benefits, among other provisions. Union chief Carl Kuwitzky said Friday that pilots also would win increased work protections under the proposed agreement, which should go to the union's board in late February or early March, after both sides have hammered out the final language.
