jsut wonderign how many people don't get excited by flying the airplane. there is a point for me that when i drive to the airport, i say to myself "wow, i get to fly a jet today and get paid for it"... when does this stop
I think the fun stops when you leave the training environment and move into the daily grind of origination checklists and an unending stream of four day trips to places you have been to many times before to fly an ILS approach that is virtually the same as every other one in the world.
Satisfaction comes from conquering challenges and from looking forward to new ones. As a line pilot once you are free from new hire training it could be a long time before you will have an opportunity to see anything new or for real learning opportunities. You are simply a piece of the machine a cog in the wheel. Your life becomes like the movie Groundhogs Day.
