We have been duped, kind of like when I tell my son that the tooth fairy will drop that dollar under the pillow. Well, at least he will eventually figure it out.
Herk, I feel your pain. It is pathetic that the vast majority of your pilot group doesn't care about having a say in their career. How is it that I feel your pain, you ask? Well, a year and a half ago, the pilots of CJC failed to vote in a representative body by the smallest of margins (missed by 4 votes). Too many people believed the empty promises by mgmt. We would be 1.5 yrs closer to a CBA.....but it didn't happen. To me, it's inconceivable that professional aviators trust MBA-types to represent your best interest. Wake up people....mgmt only serves two groups of people.......and you're not one of them. They serve themselves and shareholders.....believe otherwise and you might as well join them.

Well, that being said, the good news is that you will be eligible for a new election in one year. After slightly over one year since the first CJC election, we managed to pass our vote for representation by a wide majority (70% in favor). So, the spineless members of your group who feel mgmt. has your best interests in mind will have an opportunity to grow a backbone by voting in a union (be it in-house or national) and actually have a say in their future.

Thank you for your efforts to organize your pilot group (and thanks to all the other members of your organizing commitee). Continue the education of your pilot group and hopefully you will achieve a better result next year.
