My Dad was a 37 year pilot at UAL. Even to the day he retired in '99, he would tell a scab FO that if it did not directly relate to the flight, not to open his/her mouth because they had nothing to discuss.
I know plenty of pilots that actually carry that list around.
You do NOT ever want to do anything to be put on it....ever.
Would your Dad, with his 37th year pay, have given that FO a loan to feed his family, pay his mortgage, medical bills etc. so as to not be one name on the 75 page list? I would be willing to bet no, especially a UAL pilot. I think the 20 year old RJ pilots need to do some research and actually understand the situation before something so ignorant is praised and considered acceptable. Before you respond to this post, please do not think I'm defending the notion of a scab, but as you can see, there are such varied definitions of a scab and yet one list. I'd like to meet the "guys" that carry that list around. Again, this is evidence that as a group, pilots are more consumed by hurting others with the mask of helping the industry, than we are actually doing some good!
