This is a ridiculous debate.
Maybe. That has never stopped me before.
So how much money does your single-occupancy hotel room put in your wallet each and every month? Maybe you can fantasize about it when you're sleeping on the airplane on a stand-up.
SKW pay is higher than Mesa's for some seats at some years of longevity. How significant the difference is, lies in the eye of the beholder. I knew what the pay scale was when I came here, instead of SKW. You probably could have seen the pay scale before you come here if you had chosen to. Then you may have avoided your Mesa tour of misery.
I will fantasize about the shining day when pilots try to work together to solve problems facing the profession instead of arguing, "my regional can beat up your regional."
We get a hotel if we sit more than 4 hours, even in the middle of the day.
Put that in your savings account and deduct from it every time mesa works rules cause you to work without getting paid....see how long it lasts
I am having trouble coming up with examples of how Mesa works me without paying me.
Take into account work rules, pay scale (after year 1), bonuses, and benefits SKW pays about 40% more than mesa...yes I speak from experience.
Well, I have no knowledge outside of the pay scales that APC posts. Certainly not a 40% difference there. In a purely subjective light; the vibe I get from Southwest folks is almost always upbeat and very positive, obviously with good reason. I do not see them spending lots of energy bloviating about how much some other airline sucks. They just seem glad to be where they are. I often wonder when a pilot from XXX regional is trying so hard to convince everyone that some other regional sucks, is he really trying to convince himself of something?
But I agree with you about the upgrade thing, I would change it if I could (yes, I voted for the union).
