There are a few contracts that require that the contracting pilot pays for their training. Some contracts contain sections regarding training expenses. An example of such provision may provide for the withholding of $3.50 to $5.00 per hour of scheduled flying pay from one’s gross pay to cover training expenses.

Some companies require the posting of a training bond to cover expenses... even if you are current and qualified on the equipment you are to fly. Stay away from them.
