PDT is far from sub par on work rules as well. My only gripes were junior mans, no taxi pay, and half credit for DH's. Most other regionals are / were similar are worse. I can't speak for PSA, but as regional contracts go, PDTs isn't bad. It is easily a very good starting point for something even better.
I think the problem is that we are spending more time at regionals before moving on to a major. Regional airlines weren't designed to have 5-10 year F/O's. I just finished a three day trip and my duty time was 36hrs. Most people work that in a 5 day work week. And i only got paid for 17. Our work rules need to be changed right away. The FAA isn't doing crap for our fatiqued. The rules say that we can fly 16hrs. Our contract says 14 but it can be extended to 15. And that is what the company is doing. Rather than having an odd day of 13-14hrs, we get many days that long. The only thing that is going to change our pathetic long working days is too call in fatiqued.
Also Doug P. is happy as he can be right now because of our on time performance. It means that wall st. likes US Airways and that people will now lend them money. The only way we can get better schedules and better work rules is too have a week of **** poor on time performance.
Leave 15 late and arrive 15 late. Right away you will see a difference.
