We will have to wait for more info as I said. Again, assuming the worst case and the motors failed in rapid fashion as it sounds on the ATC tapes, the APU is prevented from coupling for 45 seconds after a dual engine failure to ensure the RAT generator couples properly. I don't have the timeline on this event so can't say what happened. Just stating in worst case they were ditching in Alternate Law and doing their first slats only approach to a ditching.

PS Assuming the APU came online at some point, they would have to reset the ELAC SEC AND FACs to get beck to Normal Law. Last thing I would be doing as I watched the Hudson get closer...
