I seem to remember someone mentioning the FO only had 35 hours in the airplane and while the Captain was flying and making radio calls, the FO was feverishly running through a restart checklist designed to be done at altitude where there would have been time to methodically do each step.
As for the Captain taking all the credit, I know he rebuffed earlier interview offers to make sure the entire crew could be included. And I cringed at every school girl question Couric asked him. Definitely an amateur interview designed to get ratings. I got more information from the Coldplay interview! (and enjoyed it more too...)
