I have friends there that did the Farmington system because they didn't want to be CFIs and they had a goal to be at a major in 5 years. They knew what they were getting into and hopeful that things were going to work out. They are great guys and good pilots so please don't knock the same pilots that are trying to do what every single one of us on here is trying to do and that's get the best flying job at an airline (or corporate or whatever floats your boat) that pays the best with the most days off flying the plane you always dreamed of flying with high senority and job security. Bash JO all you want but leave the pilots out of it. For all you guys that can't hold your tounge, failing to resist the temptation to post with nothing better to do than seek attention on these forums hoping everyone thinks your some big bad ass pilot, get a grip! Believe me, I'm no better a pilot or person than the next guy but I couldn't help but comment on the way some of these pilots bash on other pilots. We're all just trying to do a job that doesn't pay much and demands a lot of our time away from home but we all love it or we would't be here doing this day in day out. Let's all grab a bit of character and respect each other instead of bashing on defenseless pilots. G'day
I haven't read something so refreshing in a long time. Thank you for being mature, and kind. You rarely see it on these boards. To think I work with some of these people just sickens me.
I haven't posted in a while, I've just been sitting back and watching.
What is important is how despicable some of the posts around here are. I thought we were all supposed to support each other, help each other, be kind to each other, and work with each other. Guys this doesn't come with being an airline pilot -
this comes from being a human. It is our duty as men and woman living on this miserable planet together to see to it our kids lead better lives than we did. I don't think wishing 1,300 pilots our of a job, and telling the world how scummy they are is helping to accomplish that goal.
Some of you hit the nail on the head about me - I made a conscious choice to come to Mesa Airlines. I knew what I was getting myself into, and I knew all the pros and cons. I did it for a variety of reasons, and I won't bother going into those details but what I can tell you is I'm happy with my choice. I've gained a lot of experience at MAG, and I've done a lot of good things. I'm right where I thought I'd be right now (maybe not teetering on BK) and I'm pleased with the way things are going now. I can tell you one thing, from the time I started working at MAG until now, it is a totally different company. There have been many changes, and I'm seeing a lot of good things happening right now, and I'm very excited about where we will go as a company.
I just try and ignore those ignorant comments about Mesa this and Mesa that - it's childish and does nothing but further divide America's pilot groups. I'm not asking for your help, and I don't want your help. What I do want is to be treated like we deserve to be. Everyone is totally against Mesa, and says all sorts of nasty things on this and other boards - but oh wow - when someone comes and asks for my jumpseat they just love us and wish us all the support in the world... isn't that something? It's nice to have a commuter join us that has done a lot of traveling on MAG, and has come to know us. I think they feel differently about us, and they understand where we are coming from - and where we are going to. To these other people who continually bash my coworkers and I - I guarantee you haven't a clue. It's always easy to blame someone else, but it sure doesn't make you any better at the end of the day.
The point I'm getting at is everyone is kicking and screaming for unity - yet you all are doing a fine job of driving us further apart. I'm calling for you all to start acting like adults around here, adults with sense, goodwill and compassion. Not adults who wish to bicker, moan and groan about things that are out of your control. You aren't at MAG, and you have no idea what really goes on over there. I can tell you I put a lot of effort into making my company a better place, and so do a lot of our pilots. I always offer to help other people out at other airlines, and maybe if you all would do that things would change faster. But right now you all are too concerned with pointing fingers, laughing and degrading us behind the safety of your computer screen. I consider those of you who are guilty of this to be nothing but cowards, and I blame you for the demise of our industry. If you want to earn my respect - come up to me in the airport and tell me this rather then begging for my jumpseat.
I
AM proud to work at Mesa Airlines, and I am proud to work with some of the finest in the business. I know when I leave MAG for greener pastures one day I can look back and say that I helped turn something around, and I helped to leave a mark on our industry - and that's what I came to Mesa for.
