I dont think you are going to find anybody here except for pilots flying anything larger than 73's calling it small. 74 people is a large airplane. The fact that it is flown for regionals and paid like a regional has little bearing on its "size". If you think it is a small airplane because of who flies it then management has won. No matter what size airplane it is critical to treat it as though you are always flying with family on board and have great respect for your job.

The media can call it whatever it wants. I have completely lost faith in msnbc and other news media. They were calling it a jet for 4 hours last night and said that it only had 50 seats on board for 3 hours.... its not rocket science to put accurate info out there especially when there are loved ones trying to find out info.
